In this article we will discuss about some smart tips that will help you easily clean your hip flask using water and acid solution. This method does not include any harsh chemicals that could otherwise harm you or the environment in any way.
Using the good old white vinegar – You can easily keep the flask clean by using distilled white vinegar. This clear and pungent liquid is easily available at any local grocery store. Just mix one cup of tap water with one cup vinegar to create a cleaning solution.
Now, boil two cups on tap water and use this hot water to rinse the inside body of the flask. Just pour in the hot water and then drain it out. If you do not have boiled water then you can use simple hot tap water in its place. Remember to hold the flask carefully as the metal would get hot when you pour in the boiling water.
Now, take the cleaning solution made of tap water and vinegar, and pour in inside the flask. Place the cap firmly on the flask and shake it for nearly 30 seconds. Now, drain out the solution and refill with plain boiling tap water, shake again and dump the water out. Repeat this step one more time. And then clean the hip flask well with lots of plain water to ensure that all traces of vinegar has been removed.
After you have cleaned the flask, make it stand upside down, the narrow opening pointing downwards to allow all residual water drain out of it. If you own a silver hip flask then you can get the outer body polished as well to remove any kind of tarnish on the surface.
A word of caution: Always use only the white distilled vinegar as the cleaning solution to rinse the inside surface of the hip flask. Any other type of vinegar may leave some kind of smell behind and spoil the liquid.
